HeArt Touch aims at providing education programmes for the less fortunate through collaboration with established social services agencies. Our programmes cover the following areas:
Courses in Western Painting cover major media such as poster color, water color, oil painting, pastel and colored pencil and are targeted towards beginners of 3 different age groups: 8-12, 13-17 and 18 and above. Participants will learn basic theories and concepts of painting, including color spectrum, warm and cool colors, key, perspective, tone, highlight and shadow and various painting techniques such as wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, stippling, blending, etc. Each course will comprise 8 sessions of 1.5 hours each.
Courses will cover the fundamentals of the Lingnan style of painting flowers, birds, insects and fishes. Through the use of different brush techniques and texture strokes, as well as a combination of ink and color, the glamour and beauty of nature will be vividly conveyed.
A two-prong approach is adopted to bring this traditional Chinese art form to our target groups. The first is performance based. We will organize performance of Cantonese Opera in community halls, hospitals and homes for the elderly or provide free tickets of public performances to social services agencies. The second is training based. We will organize classes on basic theories of Cantonese Opera.
We offer training courses in culinary art, paper art, sewing and signs language. Each course comprises four 1.5 hours sessions. These programmes will be organized to tie in with major festive seasons.
